 Twin Turbo Engine Experiment 

 

C2AE truck block with added oiling holes for lifter bores.

 

270 / 270 degree cam, grind from original camshaft here in Finland by GT-Motors Inc. Cost 100 euros with that added oiling groove at the center bearing surface.

 

Self made intake, pressure box and pressurized Dellorto carbs on the block.

 

Same thing from the back side.

 

Totally stock bottom end with stock cast flat top pistons. Oil return line from left turbo is added to the place of original road draft tube position.

 

Hole for the right oil return line was drilled through the block skirt and a similar block plate with pipe was made.

 

This picture should be in the single turbo stuff, but it shows how the oil feed for both turbos is taken from the oil gallery.

Ported heads in place and all things going together.

This shows how oil flows back from turbo to oil pan. Well above the oil level in pan.

 

Air to water intercooler is modified to fit hose sizes.

And it runs!!!

 

Good oil pressures, no boost yet because pressure hoses were not connected.

 

And the pressure box was still open to see if it backfires. And it did… a lot!

Engine is set to Hollow Machine and it is time to hook up all hoses.

And this is what happened day before at the back straight of the track. Boost pressure was at the max and then it dropped! Suddenly with a loud BANG!

 

Last outing with the Twin Turbo at 2008 Freak Race and Seppo changing the jets again.

 

That's enough with the carbureted induction. We are going to Efi and single Turbo things…
