 Building of the Efi intakes 

 

At first we purchased two throttle bodys from 90’s Ford Mustang GT’s. Both have 60 millimeter wide throttle blades. Why two? You know… two is better than one!

 

This time we used 6 mm thick flanges and that same square aluminum tubing that we had bought previously. Also custom made aluminum valley cover was done because original would not fit anyway.

 

Square Hilborn style intakes, maybe? No, no, no…

 

Log style is what was going to be!

 

And this is where lower injectors would locate.

 

And upper ones would be at opposite position.

 

One intake for each bank. Two is definitely better and easier to do!

 

Hmmm… looks mighty powerful?

 

No clearance issues with distributor.

 

Aluminum wedges for injector bases.

 

Some welding done and Seppo still hasn't learned how to weld beautiful beads!

 

Throttle body mounting plates welded.

Throttle bodys in trial fit. Only one TPS will be used, because Megasquirt won't need the other. Blades will move simultaneously anyway.

 

Chaos! The big hole at the left intake will be plugged with an intake air temperature sensor.

 

This is how we solved the problem with attaching the fuel rail to lower injectors. Rude method but it works.

What is done is done… Good or bad, who knows?

Wastegate dumps gases to the exhaust pipe just before the lambda sensor.

 

If we would have had two similar turbos, we sure have used both of them. But we had only one Rajay… Jep, one is worse than two. We really found out that later at the dyno session!
